John Lord provides specialists manufacture and installation of flooring, drainage and protection solutions.
We install all major brands of high-performance resin flooring systems, stainless steel drainage and protection, hygienic wall cladding systems and through our commercial flooring division, install a wide range of quality commercial floor finishes sourced from the UKs leading manufacturers.

As a result of our continued expansion, we are looking to fill a variety of Apprentice, Operative (Labourer) and Floor Layer/Screeder roles. In return we offer the opportunity to join one of the largest installation teams in the country, supported by a dynamic management team that will provide extensive training and support from within.
Apprentice Roles
Our apprenticeship scheme helps us to find the future champions of our business. Our apprentices are supported through our extensive in-house training which is supplemented with a Level 2 NVQ training course delivered by a renowned industry recognised provider, ensuring that our employees have all the latest knowledge and skills required. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of health and safety and client interaction. Please note this role will require extensive travel and working away from home during project delivery. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a commitment to safety, timekeeping, representing the Company professionally, attention to detail and the desire to train within the field.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will possess a current CSCS card (although this is not essential)
- Has a current valid driving licence or be working towards obtaining this (although this is not essential)
- Is flexible and willing to accommodate occasional weekend work where required
- Is committed to training within a growing Company
- Is someone with a positive attitude, who can work well as part of a team
- Full training will be provided therefore experience is not essential
- Good basic day rate with a generous enhanced rate for weekend work and away work on top.
Operatives (Labourers)
Our operatives support our installation team by assisting with setting up the job, surface floor preparation, mixing materials and finishing of the job, as well as general site work and labouring duties. You will work under the guidance of the Screeder and the Supervisor (Foreman) and will be expected to maintain the highest standards of health and safety and client interaction. Please note this role will require extensive travel and working away from home during project delivery.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will possess a current CSCS card (although not essential)
- Has a current, valid driving licence
- Has previous experience of labouring, preferably within flooring preparation and resin installation (although not essential)
- Is someone with a positive attitude, who can work well as part of a team and is able to motivate themselves and others
- Good basic day rate with a generous enhanced rate for weekend work and away work on top.
Floor Layer/Screeders
Our Floor Layers and Screeders are at the forefront of our business; the successful candidates will provide exceptional floor preparation, mixing, installation and finishing of the John Lord scope of products (WR, HT, Epigard, SF, MT, Co-Polymer, Epiflex, Infill, and Rizistalcrete.) You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of health and safety and client interaction and will work under the guidance of the Supervisor (Foreman) and Contracts Manager. Please note this role will require extensive travel and working away from home during project delivery.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will possess a current CSCS card
- Has a current, valid driving licence
- Has previous experience of flooring preparation and resin flooring installation
- Will possess the knowledge of relevant standards within a manufacturing and installation environment (both commercial and industrial)
- Good basic day rate with a generous enhanced rate for weekend work and away work on top.
Warehouse Operative
Our warehouse operatives support our installation teams by loading and unloading our vans, breaking down stock on pallets and picking stock. You will work under the guidance of our Warehouse Manager and will be expected to maintain the highest standards of health and safety and quality control.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will be FLT and Reach Truck trained (although not essential)
- Has previous experience of working in a warehouse environment (although not essential)
- Is someone with a positive attitude, who can work well as part of a team and is able to motivate themselves and others
