Health, Safety and Compliance Manager

We are currently recruiting a full time Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to join our team at our head office in Bury.
The Role
As the Health, Safety & Compliance Manager, you will manage and develop all safety, health, environment, quality and compliance systems and requirements at our Bury and Derby site.
Areas of Responsibility
- Health & Safety Management: Manage all aspects of Health & Safety, ensuring safe operations and compliance with legislation.
- Compliance and Auditing: Manage internal and external audits, risk assessments and inspections and ensure compliance with all SHEQ standards.
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve a comprehensive health and safety management system in accordance with relevant legislation and standards including for example fire safety, asbestos control, legionella, electrical and gas safety, and contractor management.
- Manage the safety culture of the organisation through engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and continually improve management certifications in line with the current standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and BS EN 1090 and any future requirements.
- Incident Management: Manage and investigate SHEQ related incidents and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
Required skills and competencies
The ideal candidate must come from a Manufacturing background as a Health and Safety Manager. You will also have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- NEBOSH Qualification or equivalent.
- Experience and skills required within SHEQ Management.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- A preferred (but not essential) Manufacturing background as a Health and Safety Manager
You will also have the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- Experience managing and developing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
- Experience of identifying, conducting, communicating, and reviewing various risk assessment types (general, CoSHH, fire, DSE, PUWER, manual handling etc).
- Knowledge of REACH regulations.
- Effective user of Microsoft Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc).
Salary is negotiable and will depend upon skills and experience.
