We are pleased to announce that we have recently relocated our group headquarters to a brand new 25000 sq ft factory at the prestigious Park 66 development, at junction 2 of the M66 in Bury.

John L Lord & Son Ltd (the group founding company) has operated at its Ainsworth Road site in Bury since 1901, set up by John Lloyd Lord as a manufacturer and installer of chemical and abrasion resistant floor finishes and vessel linings. Today, the company employs the latest technology to address the same markets, now transferring its manufacturing and contracting business to the new site.

The existing site will be retained for new special projects, as part of ambitious plans for the business going forward.

Driven by sustained on-going growth, the new factory is significantly larger than the previous facility, enabling all manufacturing operations to be carried out under one roof. It will provide significantly more office space for streamlined administration, plus easy access from the motorway network.

The new site will also be the group headquarters, from where the group administration team will manage trading activities at both Bury locations as well as two sites in Nottingham.

Stephen Lord, Group Chairman and fourth generation of the family-owned business said: “As the fifth generation joins the business, we have ambitious plans for the future. This move puts us in a great position to go to the next level as an expanding group with a diversified platform of activities”

“Bury has always been an important part of our business and family history. Previous generations of the family have been Mayors of Bury and the Chairman of Bury FC.  Four generations have been educated at Bury Grammar School, so our ties to the town are strong. That is why it was so important for us to find a facility here.”

John L Lord & Son Ltd.’s Managing Director Mark Hadfield said “We are committed to continuing to grow our business in Bury. We currently employ around sixty local people, and this will increase with demand. Our management team will ensure that we build a skilled workforce through apprenticeships and vocational training”

“Our brand-new state of the art factory will improve operating efficiency, providing better service for our customers and a safer, more comfortable working environment for all of our employees.”
