Goose Beck Winery: Flooring and Drainage Solution
Background
Goose Beck Vineyard, a family-run vineyard located in North Yorkshire, were expanding and needed a new wine processing area.
To meet the demands of beverage production, they needed a flooring system that would be durable and long-lasting, unlike traditional paint systems, which tend to wear off or flake over time. It was also essential for the flooring to be hygienic, hard-wearing, and easy to clean, to maintain high safety and quality standards during wine production.
Solution
John Lord installed a comprehensive flooring and drainage system over 6 days. A total of 240m² of Uragard HT62W polyurethane resin flooring screed, 57 meters of coving, and Aspen Davos channels with Meribel outlets were installed. Uragard HT62W was chosen for its high durability and anti-slip resistance, which makes it particularly suitable for food and beverage manufacturing facilities.
The Meribel drains were designed to handle high levels of waste generated on-site and feature a self-draining slope, and an easy-to-clean surface. This seamless integration of the flooring and drainage systems ensured that the facility would be easy to maintain, even during peak production periods.
Having a single supplier for both flooring and drainage is a huge benefit when it comes to designing the best system for your needs. The perfectly fitted flooring and drainage system boosted the overall performance of the facility which included employee health & safety, operational costs and consumer safety. Our dedicated project managers worked closely with both the winery and the main contractor during the entire installation process to ensure the highest standards for flooring, drainage and protection were achieved.
Results
The installation of the Uragard HT62W flooring and Meribel drainage systems significantly enhanced the performance of the new wine processing facility. The benefits included improved employee health and safety, lower operational costs, and heightened consumer safety.
