Background

Co-op Live, the largest music venue in the UK needed several VIP backstage flooring areas replaced as they were looking to improve the aesthetics of their existing flooring.

They needed a flooring system that would be durable and long-lasting, unlike traditional paint systems, which tend to wear off or flake over time. It was essential for the flooring to be aesthetically pleasing, but it also needed to remain resilient in a high traffic area.

Solution

John Lord installed a comprehensive flooring system comprising of 650m of resin flooring, and 180m of carpet tiles, over 5 working days.

A special flake, acrylic resin screed was chosen for its high durability and anti-slip resistance, which makes it particularly suitable for high traffic leisure and hospitality environments.

Interface Step It Up carpet tile were chosen for their texture and colours, as well as the acoustic sound absorbing properties which were a necessity for the VIP backstage and bar areas.

In projects where multiple types of flooring are required, having a single supplier for both is a huge benefit to ensure the best the best system for your needs.

The perfectly fitted resin flooring and carpet tiles boosted the overall aesthetics and performance of the area providing comfort under foot, safety for employees and visitors, and a colour scheme that enhanced the look and feel of the area.

Our dedicated project managers worked closely with both Co-op Live and the main contractor during the entire installation process to ensure the highest standards were achieved.
