DO & CO is the latest food manufacturer to choose John Lord to assist with the design and installation of a hygienic flooring system for its new UK-based facility.

DO & CO is an airline catering company, based at Heathrow Airport, specialising in gourmet food production and distribution. Driven by an increase in demand for high-end catering across the UK hospitality sector, the new facility will be integral to the future growth of the business in the UK and across Europe.

The fast-track project is the second John Lord has completed for DO & CO, having supplied and installed flooring at their previous manufacturing facility. This time, the John Lord team were involved from the very beginning, assisting the project management team with the initial design, through to completion of the project.

Mclaughlin & Harvey were appointed as the main contractor to help fully reconfigure the internal space for its gourmet food preparation and distribution centre.

As the facility is to be used for food manufacture, the flooring needed to be hygienic, hard-wearing, and easy to clean. John Lord installed a total of 11,500m2 of Uragard HT62W, which lends itself particularly well to food manufacturing facilities due to the high degree of durability and anti-slip resistance.

The resin screed is also incredibly hygienic and resistant to aggressive chemicals often used during clean downs.

To guarantee a safe and hygienic finish, John Lord also installed Aspen stainless-steel drainage systems throughout, to ensure that any liquid is dispersed quickly and efficiently.

The result is a high-quality floor that will last for many years.
